LPG & PNG Dual Connection: What You Need to Know

If Piped Natural Gas (PNG) has become available in your area, the government's rule for PNG-notified areas is straightforward: a household cannot hold an active LPG cylinder connection and a PNG connection at the same time. This page explains what the rule means and what to do next.

Has your area been notified for PNG?

When a City Gas Distribution (CGD) entity equips your housing society or area with PNG services, they serve a formal notice. As per the Government Notification for PNG-notified areas, LPG customers are required to apply for a PNG connection within three months from the date that notice is served.

If you haven't applied for PNG yet

If your area has been notified and you have not yet applied, please contact your PNG service provider directly and complete the application process at the earliest.

If you've already applied

If you have already applied for a PNG connection, you may kindly ignore any dual- connection notice you receive — no further action is needed until PNG is actually connected at your premises.

If you already hold both an LPG and a PNG connection

You have two options:

• Surrender your LPG connection by submitting a request through mypngd.in, or
• Obtain a transfer voucher by visiting our office.
